ASSOCIATE ARTISTS
After two years as a small (but mighty!) team of two, we (artistic directors Chris Mayo & Holly Mallett) are excited to be putting the call out for four ASSOCIATE ARTISTS to join CUCKOO BANG and work with us to create bold, exciting and challenging new work in 2018 and beyond.
We are looking for actors, writers, directors, producers and anyone else in between who is working in the industry & who has a huge passion for creating live work. Roles as associate artists will include working on the development of new ideas, getting shows staged, performing, devising, writing and directing (depending on experience / interest) and developing the theatre company as a whole.
Our shows have been performed at The Leicester Square Theatre, Brighton Fringe, The Brockley Jack, Theatre Utopia, The Etcetera Theatre and more and we have run workshops, networking events and new writing nights at venues including Theatre Deli, Ophelia and The Water Poet.
With a number of projects planned for 2018 and scripts currently in development we are looking for those interested in getting stuck in with the running of a theatre company, devising and workshopping ideas and getting that work staged.
At this stage there is no particular time commitment involved, once we've made a shortlist, we'll get everyone in a room and have a chat about how we could all work together and our plans for the next year and beyond.
This is an entirely collaborative & voluntary arrangement but whilst there is no fixed fee, we are continually fundraising to cover the costs of workshops, research & development and full productions to pay our cast and creative teams as fairly as possible, all of which is agreed on an adhoc basis. All our productions have been paid and we will always strive to cover expenses where possible.
Whether you can spare a couple of days a month, or a few weeks here and there, we would love to hear from you.

There are no lengthy forms, no intense interviews and no awkward barriers to get through, just drop us an email HERE with the subject title CUCKOO BANG - ASSOCIATE ARTIST APPLICATION and tell us a little about yourself, your experience (if you have a CV or video, you're welcome to send us links / attachments) and why you would like to get involved in our work. We'll then make a shortlist and invite all those on the list for an informal chat, then we'll pick our 4 associate artists and get to work from the Autumn of 2017 and throughout 2018.
